Wichita Chamber, EDC Represent 1,500 Business Members

Services with a smile? The Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition offer a number of services and tools to promote business expansion and growth.

Plus they schedule headline events, including having President George W. Bush appear as guest speaker in November 2011 at the chamber's annual meeting. Colin Powell and Rudy Giuliani have also appeared at past chamber business functions.

Greater Wichita chamber officials say the organization's main mission is to be a business advocate for its 1,500 members, and some of the ways it accomplishes that is through supporting pro-business candidates during elections, strengthening the community's quality-of-life profile and helping businesses invest in the region. The chamber also looks for ways to help small businesses prosper,.

The Greater Wichita Economic Development Colaition helps to grow Greater Wichita's commercial and industrial base through aggressive business retention, expansion and recruitment activities. ThecCoalition markets a nine-county region of South Central Kansas as a fierce competitor in the global environment, pointing out that the area has a strong aerospace history, as well as a young and energetic culture that is catching the attention of business professionals across the nation.
