Rusty Rail Golf Club is a Texas Hit

If golf is your bag, you might want to experience Rusty Rail Golf Club near Jefferson, Texas.

The par 71 layout that opened in 1983 is actually only a nine-hole venue that golfers can play twice during a round, and Rusty Rail was recognized as one of the top 25 golf courses in Texas by the Dallas Morning News. There are four distinct tee boxes on all nine holes that allow golfers to enjoy a full 18-hole experience.

One of the par 4s on the front nine turns into a par 5 on the back, while one short par 3 on the front transforms into a challenging 227-yard par 3 on the back – with a rise on the fairway that hides the green. There are also holes that have doglegs as well as water hazards. In fact, 11 of the 18 holes feature water or a creek to hit over.

Rusty Rail is a public facility that also offers memberships starting at $50 a month, and there is a clubhouse with banquet hall that is used often for weddings, birthdays and corporate events. The golf course is six miles north of Jefferson on Highway 59.
