Dell Inc. forever changed the local landscape when it moved to Lebanon’s Eastgate Business Park in 1999. The company opened a 260,000-square-foot factory for the production of desktop computers.

Now with some 1,500 employees, the Tennessee Manufacturing Center was the first outside of Texas for the Austin-based company. The Lebanon facility was the first of three Dell installations in Middle Tennessee; the others are the East Coast Fulfillment Center and the Tennessee Customer Contact Center near Nashville International Airport.
