The sports and recreation industry is a broad category that includes such attractions as theme parks, arcades and casinos, golf courses, skating rinks, ski lifts, marinas, day camps, riding stables, water slides, and establishments offering rental sporting goods. According to the U.S. Bureau of Economic analysis, the sports and recreation industry accounts for about 1.5 million jobs, many of them part time or seasonal.
