A major expansion for benefits and payroll processor ADP in the Lone Star State tops the week’s expansion and site location news:
In Texas, payroll services giant ADP is expanding its operations in El Paso, creating 585 jobs and $22 million in capital investment. Texas is providing $2.4 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund (TEF) to finalize this expansion and job creation.
In South Carolina, health-care and benefits technology provider Benefitfocus has unveiled a new Design and Engineering Building on its Daniel Island campus. The 80,000-square-foot facility can accommodate 475 workers at capacity, adding to the company’s 68,000-square-foot corporate headquarters. Benefitfocus announced its plans to add 300 new software engineering and professional jobs over the next 24 months.
In Tennessee, Access America Transport announced it will expand its Chattanooga and Knoxville facilities and create 550 jobs during a five year period – 450 additional jobs at the Chattanooga facility and 100 additional jobs at the Knoxville facility. Access America Transport is a full service transportation company headquartered in Chattanooga. Founded in 2002, the company handles all modes of transportation including truckload, less-than-truckload, intermodal and specialized freight.
In Ohio, a Medina County company plans a $31.5 million expansion that would create dozens of new jobs. Metal parts maker SFS Intec Inc. received approval from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority for tax breaks to help finance the expansion to its existing plant in Sharon Township.
In Kentucky, Barnett Industries Inc., which does business as Indy Honeycomb, is expanding its Covington facility, adding 13 full-time jobs to its 29-member workforce and generating investment of $915,000. Indy Honeycomb manufactures metal honeycomb, a product used for many military, commercial and industrial applications, including parts for aircraft engines and power generation turbines.
