Major deals for an aircraft components manufacturer and a data management company top the week’s site selection and job creation news:
In Illinois, Woodward Inc. plans a second campus in the Rockford area for its Aircraft Turbine Systems business. The company plans a 300,000-square-foot facility in Loves Park, on a 60-acre site in what is expected to be $200 million in investment in the Rockford area over a 10-year period. The company has recently won contracts for the CFM International LEAP-X, Pratt & Whitney PurePower and General Electric Passport aircraft engine platforms
In Kansas, NetApp, a provider of innovative storage and data management solutions will significantly expand its Wichita facility. The company plans to nearly double its workforce in Wichita over the next five years by adding more than 400 new jobs to its existing workforce of more than 450 employees.
In Florida, Global Response Corp. is expanding its call services center in the Fort Lauderdale area, creating 200 new jobs. The company serves several industries including retail, health care, insurance and automotive.
In Tennessee, Ceramspeed is creating 40 jobs in Blount County. The company, a maker of electric radiant heating solutions for the glass ceramic appliance market, has purchased the German company Isphording and will relocate it into the former Klote International Facility, a 55,000-square foot industrial building in Maryville. The move represents an investment of $3.5 million.
In Georgia, Talenti Gelato has acquired a former Kroger ice cream production facility in Marietta, where it will create 100 jobs. The company makes the nation’s top-selling gelato and third best-selling premium ice cream.
In Michigan, SunTel Services, a provider of services for enterprise networks to business has expanded to larger office space in Traverse City. The company says it has been awarded several new contracts in the West Michigan area including a new Mitel virtualized VOIP phone solution for Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) and all of its campuses.
